High Risk Medications: A Focus on Hypoglycemic Agents

Upon completion of this knowledge-based activity,  Pharmacists will be able to:

  1. Define the frequency, severity, and preventability of harm due to adverse drug events from hypoglycemic Agents in the state of Arizona.
  2. Identify who is accountable for new behaviors to protect patients and caregivers from errors and harm related to hypoglycemic agents.
  3. Employ screening techniques to better identify potential adverse drug events associated with hypoglycemic agents.
  4. Appraise what direct actions to take to help prevent harm and reduce errors related to hypoglycemic agents.
Upon completion of this knowledge-based activity,  Pharmacy Technicians will be able to:
  1. Describe common adverse drug events from the use of hypoglycemic agents.
  2. Identify who is accountable for new behaviors to protect patients and caregivers from errors and harm related to hypoglycemic agents.
  3. List techniques the pharmacists can use to better identify potential adverse drug events associated with hypoglycemic agents.
  4. Describe what direct actions the pharmacist or caretaker can take to help prevent harm and reduce errors related to hypoglycemic agents.

Refund Policy:

No refunds will be issued once the program has been signed up for due to the nature of the program. AzPA reserves the right to cancel any activity due to insufficient pre-registration or as determined by the Executive Director or Operations Director. In this case, all individuals pre-registered are notified and issued a full refund. Registration fees cannot be re-allocated due to the multiple steps involved with processing CE Credits.
