New Oral Anticoagulants: A General Overview of Dabigatran, Rivaroxaban and Apixaban

Upon completion of this knowledge-based activity, Pharmacists will be able to:

1. Provide background information on each of the new oral anticoagulants, including the studies which earned them approval from the FDA.
2. List monitoring parameters of the new oral anticoagulants and which techniques may become more prevalent in the future.
3. Discuss the techniques for reversal of the new oral anticoagulants and provide a glimpse at promising antidotes which are currently under development.
4. Develop a process of switching to and from warfarin to the new oral anticoagulants and how to manage surgical patients currently using the new oral anticoagulants.?

2. List monitoring parameters of the new oral anticoagulants and which techniques may become more prevalent in the future.
3. Discuss the techniques for reversal of the new oral anticoagulants and provide a glimpse at promising antidotes which are currently under development.?

Refund Policy:

  • No refunds will be issued once the program has been signed up for due to the nature of the program. AzPA reserves the right to cancel any activity due to insufficient pre-registration or as determined by the Executive Director or Operations Director. In this case, all individuals pre-registered are notified and issued a full refund. Registration fees cannot be re-allocated due to the multiple steps involved with processing CE Credits.
