Upon completion of this knowledge-based activity, Pharmacists will be able to:

1. Define the concept of a "clinical pearl"
2. Evaluate six tools to kindle, fuel, and fortify political advocacy as a pharmacy professional
3. Describe the mechanism of action of tranexamic acid in orthopedic surgery
4. Evaluate current literature to assess the benefits of the two-bag system for fluid management in pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis
5. Describe the role thiamine plays in the treatment of patients with acute alcohol withdrawal
6. Recommend an appropriate cephalosporin or carbapenem for patients with non-IgE mediated hypersensitivity to penicillins
7. Describe the advantages of utilizing integrase strand transfer inhibitors for the treatment of HIV

2. Evaluate six tools to kindle, fuel, and fortify political advocacy as a pharmacy professional
3. Recognize contraindications to tranexamic acid
4. List the characteristics of the two-bag system for fluid management in pediatric diabetic ketoacidosis
5. Describe the role thiamine plays in the treatment of patients with acute alcohol withdrawal
6. Recognize which HIV medications are integrate strand transfer inhibitors

Refund Policy:

No refunds will be issued once the program has been signed up for due to the nature of the program. AzPA reserves the right to cancel any activity due to insufficient pre-registration or as determined by the Executive Director or Operations Director. In this case, all individuals pre-registered are notified and issued a full refund. Registration fees cannot be re-allocated due to the multiple steps involved with processing CE Credits.
